Get a glowing skin with these amazing home remedies

Get a glowing skin with these amazing home remedies

A hectic lifestyle and constant exposure to environmental toxins might make your dream of flawless skin with perfect skin tone seem like a distant dream. But the secret to a glowing skin rests with your natural home remedies. But with the help of natural home remedies, you can achieve perfect skin tone.

Dull or spotted skin isn’t a truth that anyone likes to live with. However, chemically induced, expensive, beauty products aren’t the solution to this dermatological condition. Store-bought, beauty products are typically made with preservatives, artificial colors, fragrances and other stabilizers, which can be easily absorbed through the skin pores. The harmful ingredients, toxins and chemicals in these products have a long-term effect on the health of your skin. So, what’s the alternative? The good news is there are plenty of natural skin treatment products available in your own household, which are much safer than the commercially-produced beauty products. They are inexpensive and have been in use for centuries now. Here, we list out a few of these home remedies that will give you a glowing skin, naturally.

Potato

Potato contains vitamin C1, B1, B3, and B6, potassium, zinc, magnesium, and phosphorus. These are dietary antioxidants that can help in cleaning your skin and give you an unmistakable glow. Presence of vitamin C boosts collagen production. This improves skin quality while zinc helps heal damaged tissue and remove impurities from the skin. Cut potato into small pieces and rub them over the areas that you want to lighten.

Milk

The most easily available fairness secret is raw milk. Raw milk helps keep a check on the secretion of Tyrosine (melanin controlling hormone), which can lead to skin darkening. Application of raw milk over the area you want to lighten up is a good option.

Honey

Honey has anti-bacterial properties, which help prevent pimples and other skin complications. It also has bleaching properties, which help fade scars and pigmentation, especially during winters.

Cucumber

To achieve your desired skin tone, you should include cucumber not just in diet but also in your beauty routine. Cucumber has the same pH level as your skin, which aids in replenishing your skin’s natural acid level and promoting a glowing skin.

Papaya

Raw papaya could be another secret behind your glowing skin. This vegetable contains a beauty nutrient, called papain. It’s an enzyme that can reduce the visibility of blemishes and acne scars. In addition to papain, it also contains alpha hydroxy acids, which is an exfoliator and can help remove dead skin cells.

Avocado

Loaded with antioxidants, avocado protects your skin from harmful free radicals, which can damage the collagen (protein) that is responsible for keeping your skin tight. Blueberries also contain vitamins A, D and E, which can penetrate the skin and helps soothe sunburned skin. You can combine it with essential oils to make a face mask or mix it with honey or a carrier oil like coconut oil to rehydrate your skin.

Almond Oil

In addition to smelling great, almond oil has anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial, and antiseptic properties too. These make it an amazing carrier oil for treating skin rashes, reducing flaking, redness, peeling, acne and dryness. To use this oil, you can either directly apply it on your dry skin or mix it other essential oils.

6 ways to get smooth and soft feet

6 ways to get smooth and soft feet

Enjoy silky soft, smooth feet by following these guidelines to get rid of hard, cracked,
dry skin that often occurs when feet are bundled up in the winter months. These great tips can be easily done at home by incorporating them into your daily routine. daily routine.

Scrub your feet
Scrubbing with a volcanic pumice stone is an effective way of getting rid of dead skin and calluses and helping to promote healthy cell renewal and soft skin. It's best to wet the pumice stone in warm water and rub with gentle circular or lateral movements around each foot.

Soak your feet
Soaking feet in warm water for 10-20 minutes to soften them is another great way to get rid of dead skin. You can boost the effect by mixing in half a cup of Epsom salts – which contain magnesium sulfate and can help with inflammation and muscle sorenessVinegar can also be added – which is acidic and acts better in cold water – or 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda. Use the latter with caution because it can alter the natural PH of your skin – avoid it completely if you have any skin irritation. For all of the above, add a half a cup or three tablespoons to the tub before submerging your feet. Finish up with a pumice stone.

Exfoliate your feet
Using a specialized scrub  preferably with granules  twice a week will help eliminate dryness and hardness. The key is to massage feet gently for a few minutes and then rinse with water. You can make a homemade scrub by mixing two tablespoons of sea salt with equal amounts of baby oil and lemon juice. Another alternative is an oatmeal paste with rose water or milk.
Hydrate your feet
The best way to prevent dead skin from forming is to hydrate regularly with a moisturizer. It's advisable to apply the lotion after showering or exfoliating so it penetrates deeply into the skin.

Massage your feet
Another way to pamper your feet is with a massage. Use your thumbs to perform circular movements to both the upper and lower part of the foot for 5-20 minutes. You can use oils or creams to make this more effective and relaxing.
Take care of your toenails
Finally, don't forget to pay some attention to your toenails to keep your feet looking lovely. Try to keep nails short and neat, and remember it's easier to cut them after bathing or showering. Also, apply cuticle oil to keep them nourished.

Winter Skincare Tips From The Founder Of Margy's Monte Carlo

Winter Skincare Tips From The Founder Of Margy's Monte Carlo

Margie Lombard, the founder of the most expensive facial in Hong Kong shares her beauty tips on how to keep your skin in tip-top shape through winter
When Margie Lombard launched her Monaco spa in 1988 with only three treatment rooms, she did not expect that 30 years later her facials and skincare products would become one of the   most sought-after names in the cosmetology industry.

Margy's Monte Carlo, Lombard’s anti-ageing facials and line of products, is loved by celebrities and VIPs including Claudia Schiffer, Tina Turner and Princess Charlene of Monaco, who fly into the French Riviera by private jet just to get a facial at her spa.

A pioneer in biomimetic cosmetic, Lombard is one of the first to use collagen, hyaluronic acid, vitamin A and E—the four key substances that are found naturally in our skin that keeps it hydrated and plump—in her products.
Once exclusive to the shores of Monaco, Margy's Monte Carlo has earned its name in Asia with its award-winning   collagen facial s et The Peninsula Hong Kong, where the therapists were trained in the Monaco spa and certified by Lombard to replicate her signature facial technique.

On the heels of Margy's Monte Carlo’s launch at The Peninsula Bangkok, Capella Shanghai, Capella Sanya and Morpheus in Macau, Lombard shares with us her top five skincare tips on how to keep a glowing complexion throughout the cold months.
Don’t wash your face with water
Tap water contains a lot of toxins, including arsenic, which can cause skin irritation, and even increase one’s risk of cancer, heart diseases and diabetes.
Opt for gentle cleansers
Avoid gel, foam or soap   cleansers as they destroy the natural hydrolipidic film on our skin. Most soaps contain fragrances and irritating ingredients that are drying to the skin.

The best way is to moisturise while you cleanse your skin. Use a milk-based cleanser, like the Margy's Monte Carlo   Azulene Cleansing Milk, which doesn’t need to be rinsed off. You can simply use our Lotion No.2 with a cotton pad to gently remove the milk, which moisturises your skin even if you leave it on.

    Switch to a heavier moisturiser
Look for richer creams that contain hydrating and anti-ageing ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, marine elastin, algae extract and vitamin A and E during winter time. You skin needs long-lasting moisture to prevent the cold air from drying the surface. Margy's Monte Carlo  Brightness Revealing Mask  is a great replacement for your night cream for some serious moisturising results.

        Massage your face regularly
Massaging products into your skin not only allows your skincare to penetrate better, it also helps reduce puffiness and promote blood circulation. Hold your cheek bone with one hand, use the fingertips of the other hand to lift your skin in an upward motion.

       Sweat it out
When you sweat, it takes all the toxins out and opens up pores. Plus, you’ll get this flushed and radiant complexion after you exercise. Running and yoga, coupled with healthy eating habits and lots of good quality water are my recipe for healthy-looking skin.
